One of the UK’s leading residential developers is looking to enhance their Commercial team by bringing in a Buyer, on a temporary basis (until the end of January at minimum).

The business has offices and developments across the UK, and have won awards ranging from resident satisfaction to quality of work. They are a 5-star house builder, renowned for being a high-end quality developer.

The Role

You will be responsible for the procurement of materials for sites across the Hertfordshire area, using pre-existing agreements with National Suppliers and Builders Merchants to secure deals.

Your responsibilities:

•Preparing both material enquiries and tender packs, aiding in assessing the best quotations and choosing the one most suitable for the build

•To schedule and place material orders with suppliers, with the main aim being to optimise the cost and quality of your projects.

•To be proactive and see issues that may arise in the build with regards to late delivery of materials and running over costs to rectify them.

•Producing an effective and realistic budget along with material cost schedules to ensure that your build is both cost effective and runs on time

Candidate Suitability:

• Candidates should have experience in Buying or Procurement.
• Experience of working within a medium to large developer is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with COINS will greatly help your application.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, well organised, and having a strong attention to detail are all qualities that a candidate must have to be suitable for the role.
• The candidate should be a strong team player.
• The candidate will be required to commute to Welwyn Garden City 5 days per week.
