One of the UK’s Leading Residential Developers are looking to expand the Northamptonshire based Technical team with the addition of a Senior Engineer who can oversee the design, delivery and adoption of the infrastructure and ground works on their new developments.

This role presents plenty of opportunities to exercise you design abilities on our Client’s wide variety of sites, many of which use existing buildings, and all of them have unique problems to solve. The client consistently strives to use new materials and aiming to maximise sustainability and value, as well as to remain ahead the ever changing building and environmental legislation.

You will be expected to:

• Prepare pre-purchase appraisals of development opportunities advising on development constraints and ‘abnormal’ items requiring commercial provisions
• Maintain a continuous process of evaluation of Consultant’s performance and design capabilities to ensure that service delivery standards and scheme proposals adhere to best practice in delivering Value Engineering
• Assist in managing the process of timely discharge of building regulations and planning conditions
• Ensure adoption agreements are secured in a timely manner
• Develop good working relationships with Local Authorities and ensure knowledge of the peculiarities of the Local Authorities, and knowledge of the many techniques applicable to the Housing Industry to ensure easy approvals and fast, marketable, economic house building
• Establish good working relationships with Site staff and Department Heads to ensure schemes are constructed as intended and to encourage feedback for inclusion in future schemes to avoid wastage and improve the engineered solutions
• Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company

The ideal candidate will have experience working for a Major Housebuilder / Developer and will ideally have experience on similar size housing developments

You would be reporting into the Engineering or Technical Manager, and would support the department by managing relationships with external engineering practices/consultants and reviewing the designs that they produce, assessing them for their propriety and workability in regards to the direction of the project, and highlighting, correcting, and reporting on any errors or complications in their work.
